Mastitia ApS is a Danish biotech developing a topical postbiotic cream to prevent lactation mastitis — a bacterial infection affecting up to 1 in 5 breastfeeding women and a leading driver of early breastfeeding cessation.
Our dual-strain formulation is derived from human commensal lactobacilli and targets the key mastitis-causing pathogens, including antibiotic-resistant strains. The technology is backed by a granted patent and developed in partnership with the University of Antwerp.
We are pursuing a medical device regulatory pathway, with a focus on prevention at a time when antibiotic resistance is eroding existing treatment options.
